About Gastroenterology Associates of Fairfield County (GAFC)
Gastroenterology Associates of Fairfield County (GAFC) is the premier local GI brand caring for the Bridgeport, Fairfield, Trumbull and surrounding communities. Founded in 1970, GAFC has been a leader in the field of Gastroenterology bringing advanced GI care, research and procedures to patients throughout the region.
The GAFC physicians oversee a safe, comfortable and convenient Ambulatory Surgical Center adjacent to their Fairfield office. This allows patients easy access to GI procedures without the congestion of the local hospitals. If patients do require in-hospital care, GAFC physicians admit patients to St. Vincent’s Hospital.
In 2022 GAFC partnered with Connecticut GI (powered by GI Alliance). The partnership enhanced both practices and has resulted in being recognized as one of the Top GI Practices in the Country!

Dr. Woods is not only a great doctor, but he has kindness and genuine compassion which puts you at ease.
Dr.Woods is a great doctor! He listens to you and is attentive. He has been my doctor (Gastroenterologist) for almost 30 years, and I would never trade him for another doctor. His staff are very nice and courteous. And office is nice and clean!

I had to call Dr.Woods office on 2 occasions in late March 2025 to get Important Information for My Health Insurance Agent because I was changing My Medicare Advantage Plan.

Dr. WOODS is an excellent, awesome and amazing doctor. You couldn't ask for a better doctor. Dr. WOODS is a very compassionate, always take time out to listen and answer all your questions. I have the highest respect for him will definitely recommend him to everyone. He was my father's doctor for many year's until his passing @93, my dad loved him because he goes above and beyond. Now my entire family has Dr. Woods as our Doctor. And his entire Staff is Excellent. DR. WOODS IS JUST PHENOMENAL.

Dr. Woods is everything you’d want in a doctor. Patient, kind, knowledgeable and sincere. He takes his time to answer your questions with full explanations in terms you can understand. His staff is just as pleasant and friendly making you feel relaxed and comfortable while there. I would definitely recommend Dr. Woods.
